"Did someone say... G-g-g-g-GENESTEALTERS?!"[1]

Adrielle Quist is an Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos. She went unnamed until The Shadow Over Immateriums.

Official Canon[]

A secretly radical member of Ordo Xenos, Adrielle Quist was first noted for her being a psyker, especially prodigious in the area of telepathy. After proving herself as an Interrogator, she became an Inquisitor and is serving as second in command in inquisitorial forces with the Achilus Crusade to retake a Jericho Reach, a region close to the Eastern Fringes, a front of the Imperium against the T'au Empire. Despite being a dutiful and dedicated servant of the Imperium with unquestioned zealotry, Adrielle harbours fascination for xenos technology, especially that of the T'au, and is a believer of a need of the Imperium to match the advancement of that race, though since that could brand her as a heretic by her peers she heavily conceals those sentiments.

She is in high secrecy the main provider of xenos artefacts for the Crucible Resolviate, a cabal of Adeptus Mechanicus devoted to the process of exorcizing xeno machine spirits from the xeno technology and afterwards filling it with human machine spirits making them possible to be appropriated for the use of the Imperium.

TTS Canon[]

Adrielle is completely single-minded, even for an inquisitor. She suspects genestealers to be behind every single plot, including the Emperor's message. She seems to be completely unaware of the existence of Chaos as well, assuming chaos cults to really be genestealer cults.[2]

She first appears when Inquisitor Fyodor Karamazov calls together the Inquisition to investigate potential heresy on Holy Terra. From there she would go on to accompany Karamazov in 'questioning' the citizens of Terra, and in his Crusade to the Imperial palace, often appearing alongside Inquisitor Donklas of the Ordo Hereticus and Grand Master Elirush of the Ordo Mallaeus.

During the Inquisition's exile, she encountered Kairos Fateweaver while she was drunk, and asked him if he was a genestealer. Even though he had told her that one of his heads would tell the truth and the other would lie, she ignored him and attacked him when one of the heads said "yes".[3]

Adrielle somehow managed to emerge from the Warp in time to save Bruce Norring from a genestealer cult the moment he identified them out loud. Still drunk, she managed to slay the entire cult including their patriarch, before returning to the Warp. When asked by Russ how she was able to jump back into realspace, she simply said "I dunno..."[1]

During the battle at the Gate of Khaine, Adrielle, in a drunken stupor, was bombed into an unconcious state by daemon weaponry. Unsurprisingly she survived, whereupon awakening she was struck by an axe of a rather perturbed Skarbrand. Though the hit appeared to have killed her, uniquely for her amongst all the troops in the battle, an action footnote declared her to have ascended, without any further explanation to what that meant.[4]

Quotes[]

  • "Oh my..." *collapses in drunken stupor* "Broodlord-kuuuuuuuuuun..."[3]
  • "I am drun" - Quist's final words[4]
